Measure of noncompactness and second order evolution equations

Abstract

In this article, we provide sufficient conditions for existence of mild solutions for second order semi-linear functional evolution equations in Banach spaces using the concept of a measure of noncompactness and Schauder's fixed point theorem. For illustration we give an example.
